Apple Pie Filling


  • 5-6c apples, thinly sliced (about 5 apples)
  • 1/2 to 2/3c sugar (depending on tartness of apples)
  • 1/8t salt
  • 1 to 1-1/2T cornstarch (depending on juiciness of apples)
  • dash each of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves


  1. Combine all incredients above and toss with apples.
  2. Pour into pie plate.
  3. Dot filling with 2T margerine before placing on top pastry.
