Cheese Sauce


  • 2 T margarine/butter
  • 2 T flour
  • 2 c milk (soy, almond, dairy...)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c shredded cheese (cheddar, or combined cheddar, smoked provalone, gouda)


  1. Melt margarine in a sauce pan on medium low
  2. Add flour and make a paste.
  3. Add milk and whisk until all the lumps are gone.
  4. Increase heat to medium and stir constantly until boiling.
  5. Reduce heat and stir until thickened.
  6. Add cheese, salt and pepper, and simmer until sauce is smooth.
