Molasses Ginger Snaps


Ingredients

  • 3/4 c margarine or shortening
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/4 c molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger

Directions

  1. Mix together at one time all the ingredients.
  2. Form into balls. Roll in sugar.
  3. Place wide apart on slightly greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 375 for 8 - 10 minutes. Makes 3 - 4 doz.
  5. For a chewy cookie bake for the minimum time; for a crisp cookie, bake for the maximum time.
