Nutmeg Logs


  • 1c butter or margarine, softened
  • 2t vanilla
  • 1t brandy
  • 3/4c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3c flour
  • 1-1/2t nutmeg
  • 1/4t salt


  • 1/3c butter (75.5g)
  • 1t vanilla
  • 1t brandy
  • 2c icing sugar
  • 2T eggnog


  1. Cream butter with flavourings. Gradually beat in sugar, and then blend in egg.
  2. Mix together flour, nutmeg and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix well.
  3. Divide into 14 equal portions.
  4. On sugared board, shape each piece in a roll 12" long and 1/2" in diametre. Cut in 2" lengths and put on greased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 12 minutes. Cool on racks.


  1. Cream butter with flavourings. Blend in sugar and eggnog.
  2. Beat until smooth and creamy.
