Rosemary Crackers

Haven't tried this one myself yet, but our neighbour made it and it's great! Just like those expensive crackers you buy in the store!

  • 5c flour
  • 1t salt
  • 3t baking soda
  • 1.5T cream of tartar
  • 3/4c flax seeds
  • 3/4c sesame seeds
  • 3/4c pumpkin seeds
  • 1.5-2c pecans
  • 4T fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 4c soaked raisins (and/or cranberries, but don't soak cranberries)
  • 1c molasses (or half honey)
  • 2c buttermilk

  • 2T corn syrup
  • 2T melted butter

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, including soaked raisins.
  3. Combine molasses and buttermilk and then ad to dry ingredients.
  4. Kneed on a lightly floured surface. Dough will be very sticky.
  5. Form into logs 2" in diametre and place on a greased cookie sheet. (Apparently logs freeze very well).
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and brush with corn syrup mixture.
  8. Allow logs to fully cool, then cut into VERY thin slices (1/8"). Return to cookie sheets and bake at 325 for 7-10 minutes. Turn over crackers and bake for another 5-10 minutes.
  9. Cool overnight and store in an airtight container.
