Vegan Gravy


Ingredients


  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, squashed and minced very well
  • 3 slices onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose white flour
  • 4 tsp nutritional yeast
  • 4 tbsp tamari
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 or 6 white mushrooms, sliced (optional)

Directions


  1. Saute onion and garlic in oil in a saucepan until translucent.
  2. Mix in flour, nutritional yeast, and tamari to make a paste.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and let simmer for a couple minutes.
